These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Elevensies ("the Game"), operated by a solo designer and developer ("we", "us", "our"). By playing Elevensies, you agree to these terms.
1. THE GAME
Elevensies is a daily word game available at playelevensies.com. The Full Game opens at 11:00am and closes at 2:00pm in your local time zone. Your device's clock is used to determine eligibility; we do not adjust for manual clock changes or time zone spoofing. Scores submitted outside the game window will not be accepted.
2. LETTER SCORING
Each letter carries a point value based on its frequency in the English language. Less common letters are worth more. The values are as follows:
1 point — A, E, I, O, U, L, N, R, S, T
2 points — D, G
3 points — B, C, M, P
4 points — F, H, V, W, Y
5 points — K
8 points — J, X
10 points — Q, Z
A letter like J scores more than K because it appears far less frequently in English words, making it harder to use effectively. A word's score is the sum of all its letters' values. There are no multipliers or positional bonuses in standard play.
3. LEADERBOARD & RANKINGS
The Top 11 leaderboard ranks players by their score for the current game day. The following rules apply:
Primary ranking: Total score for that day's game
Tiebreaker: Where two players share the same score, the player with the longer current streak is ranked higher
Second tiebreaker: Where streak is also equal, players are ranked by time of submission — earliest first
The Today column on the leaderboard becomes visible once the 11am game window opens in your local time. Scores from players in other time zones who played in their own valid 11am window will appear at that point.
Leaderboard positions are calculated at the time of viewing and may shift throughout the day as other players submit scores. A position shown at 11:05am is not guaranteed at 12:00pm.
4. STREAKS & LIFELINES
A streak is the number of consecutive days on which you have completed the Full Game. A streak is maintained only if you play within the 11am–2pm window on each calendar day in your local time zone.
Missing a day breaks your streak. If you hold a Streak Lifeline, you may apply it to restore a broken streak for one missed day. Lifelines cannot be applied to streaks broken more than one day ago, and a freeze day does not itself count toward your streak total.
The Streak badge displayed on your profile is calculated live and always reflects your current streak at the time of viewing.
5. GAME MODES
Full Game — one game per day, played within the 11am–2pm window. Scores are saved and count toward the leaderboard and streak.
Practice — unlimited plays at any time. Scores are not saved and do not affect your standing.
Anagram — one daily challenge. A streak is tracked separately from the Full Game streak.
Survival (Play to 11) — survive all 11 rounds of 60 seconds each by scoring 11 or more points per round. Results are saved to your Survival stats.
Survival (Unlimited) — survive as many rounds as possible with no cap. Ranked by rounds survived, then total points.
Match — competitive play against other users. Results do not affect the main leaderboard.
6. WORD VALIDITY
Words are validated against an internal dictionary. We do not publish the dictionary or the criteria by which words are included or excluded. Proper nouns, abbreviations, and words requiring punctuation are not accepted. If a word you believe to be valid is rejected, we are unable to add individual words on request.
7. ACCOUNTS & CONDUCT
You may create one account per person. Accounts found to be exploiting the game, manipulating scores, or operating automated play will be removed without notice. Display names must not contain offensive or inappropriate language.
We reserve the right to remove or adjust any score, streak, or ranking that we reasonably believe to have been obtained through means not intended by the game.
8. AVAILABILITY
We aim to keep Elevensies available during game hours but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control may occasionally affect availability. We are not liable for missed game windows resulting from service disruption.
9. CHANGES
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the game following any change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
